Cindy Wu is a Boston-based educator, collaborative pianist, and performing artist. She holds a master's degree in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. After working for two years in New York City as an arts manager, she began her teaching career in 2003. Her rigorous musical training under renowned teachers, including Benjamin Pasternack and Ick-Choo Moon, has broadened her understanding of the wide array of styles. She tailors each lesson to the individual student’s personality, goals, and musical interests. Deeply committed to arts education and community engagement, Cindy has also been an active advocate for school arts programs and has served as co-chair of the Arts Committee in Brookline for the past decade.
My teaching philosophy is to provide students with a strong foundation in piano and a lifelong appreciation for music.
In addition to teaching, Cindy has served as staff accompanist for the middle school choruses in Brookline schools since 2017. She is also an active chamber musician who performs throughout the Greater Boston area.
Cindy is a member of both the Massachusetts Music Teachers Association and the New England Piano Teachers' Association, where she helps adjudicate piano competitions and organize events.
